my comments on this on another list (futurec):

I initially thought it was some computing thing, so I thought someone
finally has a useful distributed computing interface, but if it is just
some technology thing, then who knows? Something like the Moeller
Skycar? Hmmm, the only thing I can think of that would have as much
impact would be maybe some biogas home waste disposal/power generation
subsystem. And then I looked at what you wrote again :)
Hmmm. Interesting. I have the scientist's website in another window
(From the Google cache):
We are proud to announce that a key DEKA technology was recently
featured on Dateline NBC. On June 30th, Dateline featured an extended
segment on the development of the INDEPENDENCE TM 3000 IBOTTM
Transporter. The INDEPENDENCETM 3000 is the first model of a new class
of mobility devices
Eh, so it is another computer gizmo. Probably a useful Transmeta pad.

Thank you for visiting Independence Technology, a Johnson & Johnson

medical device and is not yet available for commercial distribution.

Revolutionary crowds are some of the bravest and most
generous groups of people on earth. Nothing is too dangerous
for them to attempt, or too precious for them to share.
