Re: It it even anything?

I remember those amazing discoveries and I was appalled by the lack of
interest by the public. I wonder how many really ground breaking discoveries
have gone unrealized because of lack of Hype. If someone came up with a
source of limitless energy that could be put under your house in a box about
the size of an air-conditioner but know one paid attention it would come to
nothing because of the damage it would cause to the status quo. It happened
back in the late 70's but the man who worked out anuetronic energy reactors
couldn't get any money to try and prototype his invention. It is still just a
pipe dream due to the fact that the powers that be thought it was too good to
be true that a non-radioactive nuclear reaction could be maintained in a
small box every one could own. the man worked out both aneutronic fission and
fusion, demonstrated it in the lab, but couldn't get a cent of backing from
any power company or government. Everyone was and still is trying to perfect
Hydrogen fusion which if successful will require huge reactors, make
everything in contact with the reactor radioactive and cost trillions! Then
you have something like Cold Fusion, that was all hype and no substance and
everyone wanted a piece of the action. Strange world indeed!
